TALL SHIPS AMBASSADORS

Do you want to be an ambassador for your country? Do you have an outgoing personality and excellent local knowledge of Bermuda? Then, TALL SHIPS AMBASSADORS needs you!

We require young Bermuda Ambassadors to represent the island in June, when the participating Tall Ships are in Bermuda for the Atlantic Challenge 2009. The job of a 'Tall Ships Ambassador' is to serve on each ship as the main local contact with the ships' crew. Your vital role will be to ensure that the sail trainees and crew of visiting ships enjoy their experience in Bermuda and know what is going on! This will mean that you get to spend a lot of time with our visitors from the moment they arrive from their trans-Atlantic crossing until they depart in the Parade of Sail on the 15th of June.

Tall Ships Ambassadors will have unique opportunities to make international friends, spend lots of time aboard their ship and join in on the many planned events, including the crew party, crew parade and beach sports.

AMBASSADORS' CRITERIA

Outgoing individuals, ages 18 - 25 (generally), who know the ins and outs of Bermuda and who will enjoy working with and connecting our visiting sail trainees and crew to what is going on during their time on the island.

Tall Ships Ambassadors will be assigned to a specific ship and will assist the Liaison Officer. They will help the trainees learn what has been planned and where to go. Ambassadors will also provide a link between the ships and the onshore community volunteers, who will be providing onshore assistance and hospitality.

If you speak a second language, please let us know - that would be very useful!

You need to be reliable, as your ship will be counting on you to be there.

Ideally, you will understand the role of being a member of a sailing crew so you can welcome them, assist them and help show them a good time.

WHAT WILL YOU GET OUT OF IT?

•	You will be part of an important event during the celebration of Bermuda's 400th Anniversary
•	You will have the opportunity to meet and work with people from all over the world, which will allow you to establish lifelong friendships.
•	You will have the satisfaction of contributing to, possibly, the only Bermuda experience many of these sailors may ever have. When they return home, they will surely share stories of their excitement with friends and family.
