In keeping with our mission that no young person should be turned away for financial reasons, we will offer sponsorship to those who need it.  Since 2000, we have placed approximately 10 trainees on ships annually, with the exception of 2009 when we placed 92.  We believe that, with increased funding, we will be able to increase the number of sail training sponsorships that we are able to provide to our young people.

Tall Ships Bermuda supports the work of the Bermuda Sloop Foundation and we assist them where we can by sponsoring sail trainees on the Spirit of Bermuda and by sponsoring Bermuda Sloop Watch Leaders to participate in international sailing events.  We believe this suits our intent to culturally enrich Bermuda's young people via Tall Ships sail training.

Tall Ships Bermuda has two paid part-time staff members who are currently working from their homes.  This keeps our operating cost very low.  During major events in which Bermuda is a key port, we rely on volunteers, a borrowed office and sponsorship of telephones and computers.
